Adriel: Political Junkie

I don’t know if it’s a surprise to most of you or not, but I have been glued to the election coverage. Primary nights I can be found on my couch with a glass of wine contemplating super delegates and voter demographics.

I’m torn between the Democratic candidates pretty evenly. I think both offer unique skills, but in all fairness, their platforms are pretty similar. I’ve donated to both camps equally and I now I’m under siege with eMails from them. Hillary’s always has a personal touch. Here’s one from today. My comments are in brackets.

Dear Adriel, [we're close friends]

We defied the odds last night — yes, WE [us!] — and with our stunning victories, the momentum is now all on our side. We’re going on, we’re going strong, and we’re going all the way. [oh Hillary, this isn't my first time going all the way]

Against all the odds, facing an opponent with more momentum and twice as many ads on the air, you kept working, giving, and believing. And that hard work is going to put us in the White House.

We put everything on the line for these wins, and now it’s time to put our hard-earned momentum to work. Without skipping a beat, we need to match the Obama campaign’s effort in Pennsylvania — our next big contest — and that means I am relying on you again. [here's where the sweetness ends] We need $3 million in the next 24 hours to ramp up our efforts immediately.

I guess my twenty bucks wasn’t good enough for Hillary Clinton.

On another note all together, I think Danny Noriega, from American Idol is a dreamboat. I asked him to be my friend on myspace. I know, like I need to provide further proof of my dorkiness.

My cat has worms, which I didn’t know what to do with. I’ve been having to put five drops of medicine in her mouth every morning and night. As you can imagine, cats love to be held down and force fed something that tastes foul. It’s like kitty water boarding.

The Project Runway finale is tonight and I can’t wait. I really like all three of the contestants, even uber-gay Christian. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see like the rest of us.

  1. You crack me up! Whenever I want a good laugh I know I can rely on your witticism to provide one. I agree, Danny Noriega is a dreamboat. My money is on David Archuletta going all the way – not THAT going all the way. I mean going all the way to the finals!

    :)

  2. That Danny Noriega kid looks creepy. I didn’t know you liked them pre-pubescent. ;)
